Flour and sugar prices hiked in sindh


Karachi: Flour cost all across Sindh has progressively improved by more than Rs 3 per kilo since July until today, while cost of sugar also seen climbing in the market including to the problems of the Consumers.

Sindh Flour mills association said that one 100 kilor bag whole grain cost actually peaked at Rs 3000, leading to the improve of 50 kilo bag of flour cost to Rs 1660 from Rs 1620.

On the other hand, food division resources said that it has been made the decision to sell govt whole grain to the flour mills against their allowance at Rs 2850 per bag of 100 kg for which the challans being released to the slow owners from Oct 3 and with the improved resources from govt resources, balance in whole grain cost should be seen.

Experts said that the govt whole grain cost level as in comparison to past year increased by about Rs 350 per 100 kg due to improve in the whole grain purchase support cost by the govt in past period.

Beside despite adequate option glucose from current period, the ex-mill cost of Sugar in Sindh was seen hiked by Rs 3 in three days, leading to the sugar general cost going beyond Rs 50 per kilo.
