In the capital, gunman armed with silenced weapons opened fire on a police patrol in Shaab, north Baghdad, killing two policeman, according to an interior ministry and a medical source.
An official working at a prison on Baghdad's outskirts was shot dead by gunman as he was driving along the Al-Qanat highway in east Baghdad, justice ministry spokesman Haider Saadi said.
Another prison official, who was in the same car, was wounded.
