Indian spy Sarabjit Singh succumbs to injures
LAHORE: The convicted Indian spy, Sarabjit Singh, has succumbed to injuries in Jinnah Hospital Lahore, Geo News reported.
Sarabjit Singh was attacked by two other inmates at the Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore on Friday.He had received serious head injuries.
Singh was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, amid tight security after providing him initial treatment at the prison hopital.
The inmates -- identified as Rizwan and Amir who attacked Sarabjit -- were on the death row. Later, the Kot Lakhpat Police registered a case against two prisoners under the offense of attempt to murder Sarabjit.
Singh was convicted for his involvement in serial bomb blasts in Lahore and Faisalabad in 1990. He was awarded death sentence in 1991.
