Abu Dhabi court orders Tauqeer Sadiq's deportation within one month
ABU DHABI: The federal court here has order the deportation of former OGRA chairman Tauqeer Sadiq within one month.
According to the court's order, Sadiq should be deported to Pakistan before July 3. The court passed its order after receiving a request from the Pakistani government. Tauqeer Sadiq has to the right to file an appeal against this verdict.
Tauqeer Sadiq had fled to Abu Dhabi last year after the Supreme Court of Pakistan nullified his appointment as OGRA chief and ordered his arrest over mega corruption scam worth Rs 82 billion. Tauqeer's alleged close links with PPP leadership had reportedly played a major role in his escape from Pakistan despite cancellation of his passport and his name being on Exit Control List.
